Heart Attacks, IRS and Little Sister

This evening we left Nathan with his grandparents for a few hours, while Dad and I did numbers for the IRS.  Before we left he and Katelyn were told to be on their best behavior.  (Yeah Right).

I sat with Nathan and told him that Mommy and Daddy were going to do their taxes, "Mommy want are taxes?"  Nathan it's when you have to tell the government how much money mommy and daddy got paid for the work they do.

We got home a few hours later, and I got a report from grandma and grandpa,  umm apparently Nathan had a hick up.

While daddy was in the room saying good night to Nathan, Daddy asked Nathan how the evening went.  Nathan replied, "Daddy I had two Problems, the first one was Katelyn splashed me in the face while we were in the bath and I told Abuelo, the second one was Katelyn hit me in the head, and I don't hit Katelyn so I told Abuelo."  Umm I don't think that is how things happened.

I had a conversation with my parents already before I went in to said good night to Nathan.

I went inside Nathan's room and asked him, "So I heard your were being silly?"  He replied, "I wasn't being silly, Katelyn was."  Really. What Happened?

"Well I had a heart attack."  WHAT,  "Nathan, What is a heart attack?"  It's when your heart hurts.

He quickly changes the conversation and begins to ask me, How my tax appointment went.  I replied, It went well.  "What did you have to do."  Well I give people numbers and then they send them to the IRS.  "What is the IRS?"  The Internal Revenue Service.  "Mommy did you tell them that you also clean the house."

Smart Boy, Nathan realizes Mommy should be getting paid for all the work I do around the house.  Too bad it's not included in my W-2.

Hard Day

You know when you listen to the words of a four year old, you have to wonder where exactly their ideas are coming from.

Let me walk you by Nathan's day.  Due to time change, he actually woke up at 8am, got ready for school, had a little breakfast and went off to Pre-School.  At Pre- School, I know they do art activities, reading, playing, eating, etc.  Doesn't sound like a tough day;

Well according to Mr. Nathan,  "It's been a Hard Day".

Nathan got picked up from school, when he got home he got ready for his Baseball game, and I made dinner.  Sometime between getting ready and sitting down for dinner, Nathan had to go to the bathroom to drop off some kids off at the pool.

Dad, knowing the game was scheduled for 6pm, didn't fit in the fact that Nathan had to use the restroom.  OK....

Nathan, upset at the fact that he was rushed, quickly snapped and said the following, " Stop Rushing me, I don't like to be rushed."

Well said Nathan, what man likes to be rushed when he is in the middle of the most important part of human life.

We made it to the game.  Just like any other baseball player ( at age four) Nathan did what he was expected to do.  Although I think the kids thought they were playing Football, not baseball.  I only say this because anytime the ball was thrown, all the kids would run to it, miss it but tackle each other until there was a pile of kids three feet high.  Only an observation.

Well as I am putting Nathan down to sleep, he told me he was tired,  "Mommy I had such a hard day and my head hurts."

His head hurts, really????  You know when my head hurts, it's lights out, Excedrin Migrane and a wet towel over my forehead.  Is Nathan really having a hard day, or has he heard this so much that either he really feels it, or it's one of those comments he picked up.  I know it's hard to be four, it must have been so traumatizing to me that I don't recall being four.  But thirteen, I got you Nathan, I recall exactly what it is to be thirteen and on.

I hope you rest up and your teachers, parents and coaches are not working you too much.  After all this isn't toddlers and tiaras.  I am much more sane than those moms.

Love Ya...

Little League Season Opener

Well it's that time of year, well it's going to be Nathan's actual first T Ball season.  I have to say he has grown up tremendously in the in the last few months.  Nathan is excited and eager to play.

Introducing Your New York Mets Player and assistant Coach, Daddy

We started the morning with the League Parade, and introduction of all teams.  Little League is apparently some serious business with an enormous amount of individuals involved.

After the ceremony, Nathan followed it up with his first game of the season, against the Cleveland Indians.

Since daddy is one of the coaches, Nathan had the opportunity to play catcher.  I guess somethings never chance huh,, it's who you know that gets you places.  My motto is what you do when you get there.

I asked Nathan what his favorite part of the day was, and he stated it was playing catcher and first base.  In addition, I was so proud that when Nathan went up to  bat, he actually ran to first base after he hit the ball.  Amazing.  Like I said we have come a long way from Winter Ball.

Thank You to everyone who came out to support Nathan

Good Luck Mets on your 2012 Season

School Registration

It's finally that time in Nathan's life, which he was registered for Kindergarden. OMG.. What happened to the baby boy we brought home that summer day in 2007? What I didn't expect was that registration would be so hectic. Getting him into elementary school is probably harder than getting him into Harvard. I had hear through rumorville that I better be in line bright and early the day of registration. Nathan's daddy was fabulous, since he was off that day, he said he would go and wait in line. After getting there at 0445 hrs,,,new meaning to bright and early huh. It was more like let me camp out and set up my tent, and drink my hot cup of coffee. Despite being there that early, he was number 9 in line. Holly Molly, WTF is going on? The office did not open until 0700hrs. It only took 5 minutes to turn in Nathan 's registration form, dad was told , " We will notify you in June to let you know if he got in, we still have to figure out how many spots are available after we do sibling registration." Are you F &$@@@@ kidding me. If you are thinking, Nathan 's school is some kind of magnet school or private, WRONG. It 's our local school. Mind you I am a product of LAUSD but my mom never woke up at midnight to register me in school. So now we wait and see if Nathan will attend his home school or be bus somewhere else. Why? Our bright developers and probably school district did not plan, build , or took into account the population of children in our beloved new city. I tried to explain to Nathan that he would be going to Big Boy school and we drive by it everyday, even the day of registration, he asked " Mommy is that going to be my new school" I hope so Nathan, he looked at me like "huh". Let's keep on fingers crossed.
